ECNU, PKU and Fudan Establish Research Center for Co-development with Neighboring Countries
The Research Center for Co-development with Neighboring Countries is established on September 20.
Launched by ECNU, the Research Center for Co-development with Neighboring Countries, a joint center of ECNU, Peking University (PKU) and Fudan University (Fudan) was established in Beijing on September 20.
With the guidance of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC and some other related governmental departments, the center is established with the advantageous key disciplines and research bases of ECNU. PKU and Fudan, and will make strategic and prospective studies on some important theories and issues connected with China's co-development with neighboring countries.
Qiu YuanPing, Deputy Director of Central Foreign Affairs Leading Group, and Li Weihong, Vice Minister of Education unveil the plague for the center.
According to Li Weihong, Vice Minister of Education, the establishment of the center will not only boost China's research in the co-development with neighboring countries but also improve the innovative co-research ability among the country's universities.
"With the wisdom of first rate scholars and managers from ECNU, PKU and Fudan, the center is sure to be built into one of the best think tanks for China to make research on co-development issues with neighboring countries within 3 to 5 years." said Wei Jianguo, deputy secretary general of China Center for International Economic Exchanges.
At the center's founding ceremony, Vice President Zhu Ziqiang on behalf of ECNU signed a cooperation deal with PKU and Fudan respectively , and ECNU's professor Feng Shaolei, was appointed as the center's director.
